Veronica "Isilda" Lowe, 85, of Liverpool, formerly of Liberty, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, April 28, at home with her family by her side. She was born July 6, 1927, in Panama City, Panama. Isilda moved to Liberty in 1955 and resided there until 2009. She worked several places which included the Grossinger Hotel, Walnut Mountain Care Center and then for the Grossinger family for many years.
She was predeceased by her mother, Louise Lowe and her daughter Marcia Lewis.
Isilda will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her love and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved crocheting and sewing.
She will be remembered as a loving mother and the best cook ever. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph R. Lewis (Gloria); granddaughters, Keanah Patterson (Kevin), Amalia Swan (Jim); and Andrea Lewis; grandsons, David Richards, Dion Lewis (Alida), and Ivan Lewis (Lynette); great grandchildren, Promise, Dion Jr., Isaiah, Jordan, Xavier, Jaylen, Mia, Darnell, Luisa, Nick, Gabriella, Alaysia, and Kendar; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and close friends.
Funeral service: noon Friday, May 3, at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Route 31, Baldwinsville, with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours: 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the funeral service. Contributions in Veronica’s memory may be made to the Food Bank of Central New York, 7066 Interstate Island Rd., Syracuse, NY 13029.
