Kenneth L. Robinson passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013, following a brief illness. Ken was born on June 15, 1919 to the late William and Helen Robinson. He was born and raised in the Syracuse area. Ken served in the US Army during WWII. Upon his discharge from the service he received the WWII Victory Medal among others.
In 1943 Ken married Edith (Rusty) Culver and the couple enjoyed a long marriage, being married 67 years until her death in 2010.
In the early 1990s Ken retired from Raynor Overhead Doors. Following his retirement Ken and his wife spent their time at their Panther Lake home with their closest friend and co-camp owner, Robert Mahoney. Ken was an avid gardener and handyman and it was here at the Lake that his talents were displayed.
In addition to his late wife, Ken was predeceased by his friend, Robert Mahoney, his sister, Elizabeth Dilmore, and his brother, William James Robinson. He is survived by his daughter, Clarissa A. Robinson, who was his loving companion after the death of Rusty. He is also survived by his “adopted” family, Michael and Michelle Tisdell, his niece, Sharon Bowers, his nephew, Allen Kautzman, and his special friends, Tanya Romeo and Michael Weber.
Ken was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by those surviving him.
Calling hours: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Monday, March 25, at the funeral home.
