Wanda Slocum, 88, of Howlett Hill, passed away peacefully Monday, March 4, 2013, at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, surrounded by her family. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was born on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1924, to the late Joseph and Kamila Kadlubowski.
Wanda graduated from Central Tech High School and worked at Onondaga Pottery, New York Telephone Co., and Dey Brothers. Home and family were the center of her life. She excelled in and enjoyed baking, sewing and crocheting. Her love of music and dance ran deep, as did her passion for animals. She was a communicant of The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter and member of its Altar & Rosary Society.
Wanda was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, Leo and Richard Kadlubowski.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph; daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Bruce Crosman of Caledonia and Judy and John Fero of Syracuse; sister, Dolores Kadlubowski of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Rev. Henry J. Pedzich celebrated a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, in The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter. Burial will be in the spring at Howlett Hill Cemetery, Camillus.
