Stella Woznick Kerznowski, 84, of East Syracuse, passed away June 20, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born on Jan. 19, 1929, in Penneville and graduated from East Syracuse-Minoa High School in 1946. She retired in 1991 from Fremont Elementary School where she was a secretary for 26 years. Stella was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Minoa and enjoyed bowling, golf, casino, and playing pitch. Her greatest love was taking care of her seven grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard in 1990.
She is survived by two sons, Leonard (Laurie) of East Syracuse and Michael (Ava) of Minoa; daughter, Mary of California; five sisters, Anna Tyrell of North Carolina, Catherine Wojtaszek, Jennie Adams and Julia Kanaley all of East Syracuse and Olga Doyle of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Cecilia Parkinson of Albany; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Hospice and the nursing staff of St. Joseph's Hospital 1-8 for their outstanding care given to our mother. Special thank you to Stella’s sisters, Katie, Jennie, Julia and Olga.
There was a private memorial Mass followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa.
