Joyce George, 79, of Liverpool, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Francis House. A native of Stockholm, ME, Joyce was a longtime resident of the Town of Clay. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Freda Plourde.
Joyce worked as a waitress in the Syracuse area; she owned and operated Lee's Diner in North Syracuse for several years before working at Greg's Restaurant. After that, Joyce worked at several jobs including US Containers in Liverpool. She was an avid bowler who belonged to many leagues at Bowling Green Lanes in North Syracuse and was a charter member of the Horses Ass Club who met at the Spinning Wheel and Bowling Green Restaurants.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Jimmy George, in 1992 and by her partner, Walter Kuberski, with whom she resided for many years.
Joyce is survived by her son: David (Deborah) of Liverpool; two brothers: Paul (Judy) Plourde of NH, and John (Bev) Plourde of CT; and by two grandsons, David and Robert George.
