Dale L. Dellmore

Dale L. Dellmore, 70, of Syracuse went to be with the Lord at 4:40 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Syracuse to the late Don and Aileen Tyler Dellmore on June 23, 1942.
A 1960 graduate of Valley High School, Dale attended Union College in Kentucky. He married Sharon Strickland Dellmore on Aug. 13, 1966. They enjoyed 46 years together.
Dale was employed at AT&T for 27 years as a telephone office installer and manager until retirement in 1990. With his heart for helping people, Dale worked as a volunteer paramedic at WAVES ambulance and in 1990 was awarded recognition for 10,000 service hours. Because of his technical savvy, Dale was then employed in tech support by the Sutherland Group until 2008, when he again retired.
Dale served his Lord faithfully in several churches as sound technician and treasurer. He loved model trains and clocks. With Sharon, he enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Wendy (Joe) Simko of Syracuse and Tammy (Mark) Thurman of Pewaukee, WI; four grandchildren, Karissa and Austin Simko and Scott and Matt Thurman; a sister, Deborah (Vincent) Aquilino; a niece, Sue Sciascia and a nephew, Phil Wellner.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at Trinity Baptist Church. Calling hours were 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Fergerson Funeral Home 215 South Main St., North Syracuse. Private burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
