Lillian A. (Crofut) VanFleet, 102, a life resident of Jordan passed away in her sleep June 6, 2013. Lillian was born March 30, 1911 in Syracuse. Lil spent three years working as an EKG/EEG technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She then went on to work also as an EKG/EEG technician at Community General Hospital for 14 years prior to retiring in 1976. Upon retiring from the hospital, Lil worked as a cashier at the former Jordan Diner for 14 years until retiring at the age of 89.
Lillian was a devoted and faithful communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Jordan where she a former president of the Altar and Rosary Society and a Eucharistic Minister. Lil also enjoyed serving at one time as president of the Tuesday Night Bowling League at Rainbow Lanes, Weedsport and president of the Jordan-Elbridge Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband Allen D. VanFleet, her parents Albert and Bridget (McPeak) Crofut, in laws George and Eva (Lewis) VanFleet, 2 brothers and their wives William J. and Josephine Crofut, Lewis G. and Beryle Crofut, nephew Lewis Crofut and son in law William M. Lowery.
Surviving are her daughter Mary Catherine Lowery of Florida, 2 granddaughters Kim Marie (Gary) Biggs of Tenn. and Kara Sue (Dr. Adam) Hilton of Fla., one great grandson Conner William Biggs, one great granddaughter Emma Nicol Hilton, two nieces, 5 nephews, several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregiver of 10 years her nephew William Crofut and by long time friend Emma Milton.
Mass of Christian burial: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, in St. Patrick’s Church. Rite of committal and burial is in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
