Glenn Arthur Bowen, Sr., AFCM, USN (ret), 79, of Pace, died Friday, July 5, 2013. Glenn was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Montezuma. He live in Baldwinsville most of his young life and graduated in 1950. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 19 and decided to make it a career. Glenn is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief with 24 years of service. Glenn was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Milton, Fla., and an avid purchaser of unique cars. He never met a stranger.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Jane; his children, Glenn (Tina) Bowen Jr., Johanna (Thomas) Bowen, Cindie (Glenn) Vecchio, Aubrey (Sheila) Clements and Jason Clements; 13 grandchildren, Chris, Amanda, Justin, Kayla, Ryan, Gina, Hunter, Savannah, Tristan, Sophia, Dalton, Paislie and Finleigh; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Rhys and Dalton; and two sisters, Helen Vault and Sheila Martin.
Glenn was much loved by his nieces and nephews in New York, Stephen, Lynette, Corey, Amy, Edward and Candi.
Funeral services for Mr. Bowen were held July 9, 2013, at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Milton, Fla.
A brother, Russell predeceased him as well as his parents, Violet and Clarence Bowen. Glenn is buried in Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
