Patricia G. Askey, of Liverpool died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at The Crossings in Minoa. She was born in Lucknow, India, and retired from Unigard Insurance Co. and was a nurse for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira and Hankins Container in Elmira. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, enjoyed reading and aerobics with her good friends. She came to the United States on a Warship through the Suez Canal.
Patricia is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Jackson in 1997; her parents, George and Jenny Guilford North; brother, Dudley North; sister, Jeanne and brother in law Daniel Vegard; brother in law, James Semple; son in law, Hugh Hunt and several sisters in law, brothers in law and nieces and nephews.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Hunt of Horseheads, Colleen (Michael) LoFaro of Syracuse, Sheilagh (Gordy) Burns of Mattydale, Patrick (Mary) Askey, sister, Barbara Semple of Danvers, MA, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours: 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 29, at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. A memorial service will immediately follow the calling hours.
Burial: 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Contributions may be made to Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, 7138 Sutherland Drive, Canastota, NY 13032. The family would like to thank the staff at The Crossings for their excellent care and love shown to our mother.
