Hazel A. Kincaid

Hazel A. Kincaid, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Central High School. Hazel assisted her husband, Curtis, with his construction business. She later worked 30 years for Judge Realty and Gallinger Real Estate, where she was frequently honored as salesperson of the year.
Hazel was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile for more than 50 years, heading up the organization as its Queen in 1964.
Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and gardening.
Hazel will be remembered for her example of a life lived with dignity, courage and fun; for her treasured wisdom, jokes and memorable stories; and also for the beautiful love story of 72 years married to Curtis Kincaid.
Hazel was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Swetman.
Surviving are her husband, Curtis; daughters, Shirley (Tom) Eagan, Diane (Brian) Elwell and Karen (Kevin) McGrew; sister, Marion Hunt; brother. Albert Hunt; grandchildren, Tom Eagan Jr., Melissa Novak, Ana Maria McGrew and Jessica McGrew; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends called from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services followed at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Hazel was laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
