Sam P. Cimilluca, Jr., 82, of Jamesville, passed away peacefully at home July 8, 2013, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Sam was born in Syracuse and graduated from Vocation High School. He served with the 108th Air National Guard in Newfoundland during the Korean War. He retired from Local 43 IBEW. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church; enjoyed fishing, boating and wine making and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marian Boytasovich Cimilluca; children, Mark (Andrea) Cimilluca of Huntington, NY; Lisa (Kenny) Hafter of Mattydale and Sam C. (Maria) Cimilluca of Ithaca; grandchildren, Michael, Francesca, and Johanna; sisters, Frances Lamacchia of Syracuse and Rosemary Root of Copenhagen; sister-in-law, Irene Kelly of Jamesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 9:15 am Friday, July 12, at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel and 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the funeral home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.
