Alfred Peter Wieczorek (Ski), 84, passed into the hands of the Lord on June 27, 2013. Alfred was born on May 16, 1929 to Stanley and Frances (Gorlewski) Wieczorek in Dickson City, PA., grew up in Syracuse and then lived in Mattydale for 56 years.
Al served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had many fond memories and stories of this time in his life. He was retired from Niagara Mohawk after working 37 years as a lineman and line supervisor. Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus and communicant and usher at St. Margaret's Church. He loved to golf, take care of his lawn and gardens, and to spend time with his wife and family.
Alfred is survived by the love of his life, his wife Marie (Waleski) Wieczorek, whom he was married to for 60 years. Also three children: Barbara (Michael) Barr, John Wieczorek, and Lawrence (Christine) Wieczorek; his brother: Rev. Matthew Wieczorek; five grandchildren: Julie (Mark) Forderkonz, Kristie (Jess) Dixon, John, Jaclyn, and Caitlin Wieczorek; five great grandchildren: Allison, Madeline, and Jack Forderkonz, and Brayden and Bryce Dixon. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Wieczorek and his sister, Maryann (Wieczorek) Rogusz.
Calling hours: 3-7 p.m. Sunday, June 30, from at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer services: 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 1, at the funeral home with a mass of Christian burial to follow at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church and he will be laid to rest at our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
