Mary Anne “Mama” Manley, 70, of Elbridge, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Francis House with her loving family at her side after a struggle with cancer for four years. Mary Anne was born in Long Island on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1942 and grew up in Teaneck, N.J. She received her bachelor’s degree from Marymount College and master's degree from New York University. She was an extension specialist for Cornell University in New York City and Ithaca. She taught home and career skills in the Jordan-Elbridge School District for 23 years.
Mary Anne was a caring friend and especially enjoyed getting together with her Secret Pal group that met for over 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and her new hobby of winemaking for which she won several awards. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Jordan and member of its Altar & Rosary Society.
Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents, George and Gertrude O'Connor.
Surviving is her devoted husband of 42 years, Jim, who cared for her tirelessly through this part of their lives together. She was proud of her children, Brian Manley of Mooresville, N.C., Jeffrey and Tiffany Manley of Wintersville, Ohio, Krista and Christian Cutler of Cary, N.C., and Suzanne and Cory Chambers of Edgewater, Md. The joys of her life were her grandchildren, Emily, Logan, Zachary, Gavin and Zoey. She also leaves behind her only brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Debbi O'Connor of Portland, Maine.
Mary Anne’s family would like to thank everyone at Francis House for their care and compassion.

Rev. John R. DeLorenzo celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 in St. Patrick's Church, Jordan. Mary Anne was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Renovation Fund, or to Jordan-Elbridge Ecumenical Food Pantry, both located at 28 N. Main St., Jordan, NY 13080.
