Linda Lee (Kellogg) Lewis, 68, of Clay, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX, and was raised in the Syracuse area. Mrs. Lewis was a 1961 graduate of North Syracuse High School and continued her education attending Crouse School of Nursing. Linda dedicated her entire career to the health care profession working most recently for Crouse Hospital in the surgery center. She was Past Queen and Chaplain of Ilderim Temple No. 15, Daughters of the Nile. Mrs. Lewis was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clay, serving on the church council, in the choir and the Altar Guild. Linda loved the outdoors, spending time gardening and camping. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She is predeceased by her father, John D. Kellogg Jr., brother, John D. Kellogg II, and her step-daughter, Robyn R. Lewis.
Surviving is her husband of 35 years, Ronald L. Lewis of Clay, her children; William (Jennifer) Johnston of Jamestown, N.Y., Wendy Johnston (Mike Waldrup) of Shalimar, FL, Heather Johnston of Central Square, Jonathan (Jennifer) Lewis of North Syracuse, stepson, Ronald (Heather) Lewis of Alvin, TX., mother, Lydia Snell of Liverpool, 10 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, siblings; Susan Kurtz of Atlanta, GA, Laura Kellogg of Rochester, James (Barbara) Snell of Camillus, Sueann (Joe) Accardi of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, aunt, Jane Golly of Amsterdam, NY, mother-in-law, Ruth Lewis of Clay and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 in Immanuel Lutheran Church 4947 State Route 31, Clay, with burial to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 from at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St. Liverpool. Contributions can be made to Hospice of CNY or to the Daughters of the Nile.
