John V. Dalessandro, Sr.

John V. Dalessandro, Sr., 89, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and resided most of his life in Liverpool. Mr. Dalessandro was a proud WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He retired in 1987 after 46 years with Syracuse China as kiln foreman and also was owner and operator along with his brother, Vincent, of the Riverview Mobile Court in Pennellville. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the parish Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the Phoenix VFW Post No. 5540 and the Industrial Management Club in Syracuse. After his retirement, John loved spending time with family and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Victoria and his brother Vincent, both in 2007.
He is survived by his daughter, Rosanne (Gary) Green of Pennellville, two sons; John V. Jr. (Michele) and David E., both of Liverpool, two granddaughters; Kristin (Bradly) Dunbar of Baldwinsville, and Heather Dalessandro of Las Vegas, NV, two great-granddaughters; Chelsea and Alyssa Dunbar, a sister, Katherine (Bruce) Hutchins of Ellicott City, MD, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Maurer Funeral Home and 10:00am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours: from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at the funeral home, 300 Second St., Liverpool.
