Blanche B. Griffin, 95, of Marcellus and Port Richey, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Born in Auburn to Honorata and Peter Stopyro, Blanche was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. She worked 37 years for Camillus Cutlery, retiring as an inspector. Blanche enjoyed beading, crocheting and bingo. She was predeceased by her first husband Vernon Bush Sr. in 1961, second husband Sandy Zellar in 1982 and third husband Lloyd Griffin in 1989; also seven siblings John, Raymond, Joseph, and Stanley Stopyro, Rose Cole, Mary Phelps and Katherine Kalkbrenner.
Surviving are her two children Elizabeth Bush and Vernon “Bud” (Marilyn) Bush, both of Marcellus; two step-sons James and Edward Griffin of Camillus; brother Donald (Darlene) Stopyro of Texas; two grandsons Jeffry (Susan) Bush of Walworth and Derrick Bush of Skaneateles; three great-grandchildren Rachel, Scott and Henry all of Walworth; several step-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws Leda Stopyro of Syracuse and Frieda Stopyro of Marcellus; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Ryan Funeral Home, Marcellus. A service followed 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, and a Mass of Christian Burial was then celebrated 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rite of Committal and burial was at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
