Tina M. Prosonic

Tina M. Prosonic, 57, of Jordan passed away at University Hospital with her family and friends by her side on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a lifelong resident of Elbridge and the daughter of Evelyn (Hares) Finch and the late John Prosonic, Jr. Tina graduated from Bishop Ludden High School in 1974 and SUNY Brockport with a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine. She served in the Army National Guard Reserves retiring after 20 years of service with the rank of captain. Tina’s service included public relations work and she was sent to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in preparation for Desert Shield.
Tina worked for the I.B.E.W. – Local 1249 for 30 years. She started as an apprentice, became a journeyman lineman and then advanced to financial secretary/office manager.
Throughout her life, Tina supported and participated in many breast cancer fundraising events and led a monthly cancer support group.
Tina loved the outdoors, nature, photography, motorcycling, traveling and her pets. She especially loved going to her camp in Brantingham, N.Y.
Tina leaves a lifetime of memories to her mother Evelyn Finch (Allan); her sister Ronnie (Prosonic) Stone, her nephews C.J. Stone Jr. and Levi Stone; her niece Angie Stone Stabinski, Ryan Marlow who was like a son to Tina and her lifelong friends Deb Ackerman and Kathy Kulak. Tina is also survived by several aunts and uncles and many close friends.
Calling hours: 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St., Elbridge. Graveside services will be in the Onondaga Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the spring. Contributions may be made to the SPCA of your choice or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
