Lewis I. Banner, 87, of Camillus died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Tully, he graduated from Tully High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army. Lewis was a self-employed truck driver for many years. After retiring he enjoyed gardening and had a small engine repair business where he made many friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, in 1997.
He is survived by three daughters Karen Gallagher of Camillus, Pamela J. Meloling of Baldwinsville and Dorette (Sam Sciarpa) Teegarden of Rochester; two sons Rodney L. Banner and Phillip I. Banner; two brothers Arthur and Raymond Banner; 14 grandchildren, Kim (David) Gallagher-Durfey, Jim (Pam) Gallagher, Amber Banner, Racilla Banner, Matthew (Brenda) Teegarden, Jonathan (Carolyn) Teegarden, Jessica Banner, Kenneth Banner, Jennie Banner, Lewis Banner, Amanda Banner, Sam Sciarpa, Elizabeth Forsyth and Krystal Forsyth; five great grandchildren, Ryan Gallagher, Dominic Teegarden, Sara Lynne Teegarden, Taylor Teegarden, Trad Durfey; several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, 10 Genesee St., Camillus. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 17 Technology Place, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Please sign guestbook at blbush.com.
