Emma R. Therre, 93, of Dalton, MA, passed away peacefully Dec. 24, 2013, after a brief illness at Springside Nursing Home, Pittsfield, MA. She was born Dec. 15, 1920 in Syracuse to John and Augusta Adler Mors. Emma attended Syracuse schools and married Henry J. Therre of Liverpool on Sept. 11, 1941.
She lived most of her life in Liverpool before moving to Massachusetts in 1986 to be closer to family. She worked at Heid’s Restaurant and General Electric from where she retired. She later worked as a home health aide. She always enjoyed summer camping and fishing and playing cards with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Ann and son-in-law George Greule of Peru, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Therre in March 1966; brothers, John and Frank Mors; sisters Anna Leatz, Elizabeth Boshart, Margaret Mors, Francis Pascuzzi, Augusta Myers, Catherine Flavin, Theresa Stefanko and twin sister Agnes Mors.
Funeral services: 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Maurer Funeral Home 300 Second St., Liverpool, and noon in St. Joseph the Worker Church with a mass of Christian burial celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial followed in Assumption Cemetery.
