Jeanne “Nina” (Pridday) Jolliffe, 82, of Manlius, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, with loved ones beside her. Nina was born in White Plains, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph E. and Mary (Mollie) Pridday and grew up in Scarsdale, N.Y. Nina attended Mary Mount, Manhattanville Sacred Heart and Bard College, where she met her beloved husband of 54 years, John (Jack) Jolliffe. Nina was an avid horsewoman and center piece of the Limestone Creek Hunt Club. She spent many hours riding her Appaloosa horse, Navajo’s Love “Lady”, through the fields following her treasured fox hounds. When she could no longer ride the hunts, she took to her four wheel drive to help round up the straggler hounds. Her love of fox hunting was only surpassed by her love of animals and family.
A long standing communicant of St. Ann’s Church, Nina took great solace and pride in her faith. Well known in her community, a dear friend and a second mother to some, her loss will be felt by many. Nina is survived by her husband, Jack; three children, Laurel (John), Georgina, and Carey; as well as two cherished granddaughters, Jilian Kimball and Pridday Jolliffe-Buyce. Nina delighted in her very special bond with her nieces and nephew.
