Margaret L. Crosman

Margaret L. Crosman (Margie), 93, died at her home Aug. 9, 2013 in Skaneateles. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Judge Edmund H. Lewis and Laura Strong Lewis.
She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Crosman, children, Janet L., William B. (Wendy), Charles C. Crosman and grandchildren, Emily M. and Maria A. Crosman. She attended the Goodyear School in Syracuse, graduating from the Hartridge School in Plainfield, NJ, and Vassar College in 1941.
A lifelong volunteer, Margie loved to read and travel. Her degree in early childhood development was applied to helping found the Early Childhood Center in Skaneateles, being a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was a Laubach Literacy volunteer and board member of the Skaneateles Library, drove for FISH (Friends In Service Here) and for Meals-On-Wheels, and for nine years was a volunteer for Hospice of the Finger Lakes. She was also a long time member of the Leisure Hour (Book Club) and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Elder. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
