Alice W. Gurnsey

Alice W. Gurnsey (Roraback), loving mother and grandmother, 84, of Kirkville, passed away peacefully July 30, 2013, at Elderwood Health Care at Birchwood. Born in Utica, she graduated from Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in Schenectady and received a BS degree from Utica College. Alice was a registered nurse working in area hospitals and nursing homes. She was an active member and volunteer at the Minoa United Methodist Church, Oasis and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bridge and travel.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Roraback in 1978; her second husband, Carl Gurnsey in 1991; a brother and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (William) Mann of Liverpool, Leslie (Paul) Ray of Chittenango, Teresa (John) Cayea of Cicero and Charles Roraback of Richland; step-children, Jeffrey, Timothy, Debra and Frank (Renee) Gurnsey; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Minoa United Methodist Church, 248 East Ave., Minoa. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa.
