Carolyn L. Campbell, 91, of Camillus, died peacefully Saturday, April 13, at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Syracuse to Maurice and Marguerite Olmstead, she graduated from Central Tech High School and attended Syracuse University. In 1941 she married M. James Campbell. During their 67 years of marriage, they shared many interests including golf at Tuscarora Golf Club, bowling, bridge and raising German Shepherds. As founding members of the Iroquois German Shepherd Dog Club in 1953, they remained members for 54years. She was a long time member of the Howlett Hill Presbyterian Church. Known for her keen sense of humor and love of animals, she was devoted to her family, friends and dogs. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 2007. She is survived by her children, Di (George) Ambrosio of San Bruno, California, David (Lynne) Campbell of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan and Dick (Joyce) Campbell of Skaneateles; her grandchildren Jason (Anne Marie) Campbell, Cailin Campbell, Jeff (Caitlin) Campbell and Julie (Jeff) Torrey; her great-grandchildren, Campbell and Jack Torrey and Paige Campbell. The entire family would like to thank the dedicated staff at St. Camillus for their six years of wonderful care for Carolyn. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
