Fayetteville native Robert Petch passed away Aug. 23, 2012, in Anderson, SC. He was predeceased by his wife Marcia (Hall) Petch, his parents, Earl and Mary Creamer Petch, and brother James. He was born on July 26, 1925. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School, attended Niagara University, and graduated from Powelson Business School. He served in the U.S. Army and participated in the Normandy Invasion at Utah Beach. He was awarded the Bronze and Silver stars. Bob retired from Chase Lincoln Bank after 32 years of service. He was a life member of Lions International, American Legion, DAV, and a charter member of the WWII Memorial and Big Red One Division. A mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Immaculate Conception church in Fayetteville.
Burial, with Military Honors, was in the Imamculate Conception Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
