William M. Lang, 68, of Marcellus, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at home with family by his side. Billy was a 1962 graduate of Marcellus Central School. He then graduated in 1967 from Syracuse University receiving a marketing degree.
Billy was an Army veteran stationed in Fort Dix, where he marched for two years in the Army Band, playing the alto sax and clarinet. He then ran the family business, Verna Lang Real Estate, for over 40 years. He was a member of the Marcellus American Legion Ralph Share Post No. 297 and the Marcellus Optimist Club.
Billy was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist. Along any road in Marcellus, you will see a lasting legacy to Billy in the hundreds of Bluebird boxes he lovingly built and maintained.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years Rufia; his son Jay (Hillary) Lang of Onondaga Hill; his sister Maria (Martin) Fishkin of Marcellus; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, followed by a memorial service and an American Legion Service, all held at Ryan Funeral Home, Marcellus. Burial private.
