Kenneth V. Ryan, Jr., 86, of Liverpool, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Sunnyside Care Center. He was born in Syracuse and had resided in Liverpool for the past 20 years. Mr. Ryan was a WWII U.S. Navy beteran serving on the USS Marblehead. Kenneth retired in 1991 as plant manager of the Schiefer Folding Box Company in Syracuse. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and playing golf. Kenneth also loved spending time with family and friends on the St. Lawrence River. Mr. Ryan was an avid bowler participating in many area leagues. He was a member of the Pastime Athletic Club in Syracuse and a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Liverpool.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Mary Jean (Van Buren) Ryan of Cicero, two sons; Kenneth M. (Delene) Ryan of Cicero, Michael T. (Paula) Ryan of Liverpool, a daughter, Kathleen Lux of Fairport, NY., five grandchildren; Kevin and Shawn Lux, Melissa, Michelle, and Mary Ryan, and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Ryan. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip Street, Liverpool, with the rite of committal and burial following in Assumption Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
