Margaret M. (Fairburn) Sullivan, 107, of Liverpool, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Margaret was born in Chillicothe, IL., and was a 1922 graduate of Liverpool High School. She graduated from Syracuse University’s College of Fine Arts in 1930, and was an instructional education supervisor for the New York State Mental Hygiene Dept., retiring after more than 40 years of service. Margaret was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star in Camillus, and also served as common councilor in Camillus.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Richard (Maureen) Sullivan of Fayetteville; James (Mary Beth) Sullivan of Liverpool; Roberta Sullivan of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 904 Vine St. Liverpool. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Upstate, One Children’s Circle Syracuse, NY 13210.
