Esther Adour, 72, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca. Born in Hornell on Saturday, May 6, 1939, she lived in Hornell and Lima until moving to the Syracuse area in 1975. A graduate of Elim Bible Institute, Esther was a founding member of the Church of the Resurrection, licensed minister with Elim Fellowship and founder of WILLOW, a women's ministry for Elim. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and doing jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Esther was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Spencer, in 1995.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Saied Adour; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth Ann and Alain Adour Nunez of Saipan, and Sue and Rich Buza of Camillus; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Diana Adour of the Bronx, Joel and Danette Adour of Camillus and Phillip Adour of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Marie Spencer of Lima, and John and Glynda Spencer of Syracuse; father and stepmother, Carlton and Margaret Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, at the Church of the Resurrection, 7125 Collamer Road, East Syracuse. Services were at noon Saturday, April 28, in the Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Tim Adour officiating. Esther was laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
