John W. Dice

John W. Dice, 98, who resided in Fremont, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012, while holding the hand of his loving wife Jane. He was a traffic manager at Lipe Rollway and the founder of the town of Manlius Senior Troop as well as a member of the Masonic Liverpool Lodge 501. In 1998 he received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Town of Manlius Recreation Department as well as the Community Service Award from the Metropolitan Commission of Aging. John was active at the Minoa Methodist Church having been the Lay Leader for many years. He was active in all sports during high school having won the City Baseball Championship playing for the Vocational School. He also played basketball in the Lafayette Avenue Methodist League. He remained active by bowling and playing golf.
Survivors: his wife of 70 years, Jane E. Fitzgibbons Dice; son Robert (Irene) Dice of Lafayette; daughter Carol Laurin of Penacook, NH; a sister-in-law Arietta Dice of Liverpool; 7 grandchildren, Nicole and Claire Laurin of Penacook, NH, Stephanie and Karyn Dice of Syracuse; Cindy (Steve) Doherty of Texas, Christine (Wok) Shenandoah of Liverpool and Stacey (Joe) Senus of Camillus; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
