Carol Kalin, of Camillus, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 25, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her family and close friends. Born is Syracuse, she was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time at her summer home at Mexico Point. She received a heart transplant in 1995 and was a member of the Transplant Awareness Group of C.N.Y.
She was predeceased by her husband of more than 30 years, Edward A. Kalin in 1992 and a daughter Cheryl Ann Kalin.
She is survived by her six children; Edward J. (Maurina) Kalin, Kathryn M. Kalin, William J. (Maria Falcone), Amy K. Kinsella, Kayla M. Nolan, Elaine A. Kalin, all of the Syracuse area. Seven grandchildren; David J.(Bethany) Kalin, Christina Kalin, Joseph and Thomas Kinsella, Noah and Aidan Kalin, Wyatt E. Smith, and one great-granddaughter Mya Marie Kalin. Also, a sister Mary Kate (James) Buff of Skaneateles, sisters in law, Peg Young, Helen Ours, and Rita Kalin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at Most Holy Rosary, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made in Carol’s name to (TAG) Transplant Awareness Group.
