Roy Pinsky, 64, died peacefully at his home Monday, March 5, 2012 afternoon after a long illness, with his loving family by his side. Roy was a life resident of Syracuse. He was a graduate of Syracuse University School of Management and the Syracuse University College of Law, and was a practicing attorney, and partner at Pinsky & Skandalis, Syracuse. He was proud to practice law with his father, brother, son and longtime partner George Skandalis over the course of his 40 years in the profession. Roy was a member of Shaarei Torah Orthodox Congregation of Syracuse, The Onondaga County Bar Association, The New York State Bar Association, The Transportation Lawyers Associations of the US and Canada, and chairman of the Ahavath Achim Cemetery Board. He was a lifetime supporter of SU athletics and an avid golfer. Roy gave his time and resources to his community, but the most important thing in his life was his wonderful loving family.
Survived by his wife, Stephanie; their children, Alissa and Scott Jerome and Sarah and Todd Pinsky; their grandchildren, Zachary and Samantha Jerome, and Charlotte and Nathan Pinsky; his sisters, Elaine (David) Bluman and Naomi Blumenthal; sister-in-law Marilyn Pinsky; and his nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at Sisskind Funeral Chapel.
Burial was in Ahavath Achim Cemetery, next to his parents, Norman and Rose, of blessed memory.
