Alice E. Bugnacki
unknown - March 20, 2012
Alice E. Bugnacki (Retchless), 88, of E. Syracuse, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Born on Nov. 30, 1923, to Nellie and Harold Retchless, as a teen Alice worked for the Red Cross. She started her nursing career in Syracuse at Good Shepard Hospital. Alice retired after 45 years of service. She loved geriatric nursing and devoted most of her nursing career to the aged. Upon retirement, Alice established Whistling Pine Kennels where she bred, raised, and showed her beloved Collies. Alice was a source of our strength. She taught us tolerance, compassion, respect, and most of all unconditional love. Though she may not be with us physically, her spirit will forever reside in each and every one of us. She was a loving wife, mother, nana, and great nana. Alice was adored by her family and was highly respected as the matriarch.
Alice is predeceased by her husband George Bugnacki; sister Marilyn Flanagan; and brother John “Jack” Retchless. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen A. Bugnacki of E. Syracuse, Deborah G. (Raymond W.) DiPietro of Kirkville, and Carol Witter of E. Syracuse; brothers Mike (Sally) Retchless of Texas and Phillip Retchless of Maryland; grand daughters Eleanor M. (Paul) Rowe and Alicia A. (Shawn) Clark; and great grandchildren McKenzie and Jonathan Clark and Abigail and Bryce Rowe.
