Spiro Taskovski, 76, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at University Hospital. Born in Bistrica, Macedonia on Thursday, July 25, 1935, he was the son of Todor and Neda Taskovski. He came to the United States in 1998.
Spiro was a retired plumber and also worked at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of St. George's Macedonian Orthodox Church. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Paraskeva Stojanova; daughter and son-in-law, Neda and Peter Spasevski of Syracuse; son and daughter-in-law, Ljupco and Diane Taskovski of Clay; sister, Luba Mircevska of Macedonia; and grandchildren, Robert, Chris, Alexandra, Stephen and Stephanie.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Trisagion prayer service at 6 p.m.
Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. George's Macedonian Orthodox Church with Rev. Branko Postolovski officiating. Spiro was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Please share condolences at buranichfuneralhome.com.
