John H. Boyle, 68, of Manlius, died at home on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, after his fight with brain cancer. Born in Syracuse on Dec. 14, 1943, he was a lifelong resident of Manlius. John was a self-employed plumber for over 32 years who never planned on retiring. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Manlius, active in the Manlius and Cazenovia Antique Car clubs as well as the Early Ford V-8 club and American Truck Historical Society. John also served in the Army National Guard. He was predeceased by his parents Mary in 1991 and Edward in 2000.
Survivors: his wife of 45 years April Whipple Boyle; a daughter Cathleen of Oneida; two sons, Andrew (Lisa) and Michael J. both of Manlius; a sister, Marianne (Tom) Calvarese of Fulton; two brothers, Mark (Barbara) of Henderson and Michael (Pat) of Chittenango; four grandchildren, Amanda, Theodore and Samuel Boyle and Katie Allen as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, at St. Ann’s Church, Manlius. Burial to follow at Manlius Village Cemetery. Calling hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road (Route 92) Manlius.
