Bradford Crane Putnam, 79, of Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Crouse Hospital after fighting a battle of several years with multiple myeloma and Parkinson’s disease. Son of the late Ronald W. and Phila Crane Putnam, he was born in Syracuse and graduated from Nottingham High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and then worked for Crucible Specialty Metals for 39 years, retiring in 1994. After retiring, Brad enjoyed traveling around New England and to Florida in his RV. Brad was an active member of Liverpool First United Methodist Church and participated in the choir for many years. He was also a member of the Liverpool Optimist Club. He was predeceased by sisters Mary Whalen and Phila Hall.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Lura Putnam; daughter, Cynthia (Bill) Stevenson; son, Bradford V. (Rachel) Putnam; sister, Beverly Day; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece and several nephews. He is also survived by his step-children, Dolores (Jack) Murphy; Kathleen Lasinski; Deborah (Ray) Towndrow; Robert Green; John Green; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, in the Liverpool First United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 23, at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville.
