Thelma June Kogut, 82, a five-year cancer survivor, of Brewerton, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, at University Hospital. Thelma was a native of Syracuse and resided on Comstock Road in Brewerton for over 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence Pyke.
Thelma was an accomplished seamstress who made clothing for her family and friends and enjoyed dancing. She used to be on a Jitterbug dancing team as a teenager.
Thelma was predeceased by her husband of 19 years, Frank Kogut, in 1989.
Surviving are her three children: Sharon (Duane Wright) Menikheim of Dundedin, FL , Ronald Kogut of Syracuse, and Walter Kogut of Brewerton; a sister: Ilean Deacons of Baldwinsville; her brother: Wesley (Charlotte) Pyke of Syracuse; three granddaughters: Lorrie Heagle and Rebecca Fox, both of FL and Jennifer Felicia of Canastota; nine great grandchildren: Sarah, John Jr., Thomas, Katey, Karter, Emilie, Aidan, Jacob, and Matthew; her great great grandson, Chase; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours: 5 yo 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale with a funeral service following at 7 p.m. Burial was in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
