Karen Jordan-Sorbello, 45, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at her home. Born in Utica, Karen was a hairstylist and designer for over 25 years, owning her own salon and most recently at Bayberry Hairstylists in Liverpool. She was a very creative and artistic woman who also enjoyed fashion (especially shoes). Karen enjoyed gourmet cooking, gardening, good wines and was an avid New York Yankees fan attending many games at the new Yankee Stadium. Most of all, Karen enjoyed celebrating life and spending time with her family and close friends. She was predeceased by her father, John L. Jordan.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Paul J. Sorbello of Baldwinsville; sisters, Stacie (John) Brenkovich of Mamaroneck, NY; Tracie (Ante) Kustra of Stratford, CT; her mother, Carol Jordan (Tom Rockwell) of Oriskany Falls, NY; maternal grandmother, Virginia Misiaszek; brothers-in-law, Peter Sorbello; John (Lynette) Sorbello; sisters-in-law, Carol (Tarzy) Parolin; Kathy (Armond) DeScenna; step-children; Ross Sorbello; Trisha (Dan) Merkle; Erika (Paul) Schramm; Lisa (Matt) Winn; grandchildren, Allison Winn and Miles Schramm; nephews, Matthew Brenkovich and Joseph Kustra; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and her beloved pet maltese “Zoey”.
Mass of Christian burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 Route 31, Baldwinsville. Calling hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, from at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karen’s memory may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
