Helen C. Turley

Helen C. Turley, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Loretto following a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Helen was born in Schenectady on Nov. 3, 1919, the daughter of the late Dominick and Christina Hentz Colavita. She graduated from Cobleskill College in 1942 and later continuing her education, graduated from Syracuse University. Helen was employed at General Electric 25 years. Following she taught and retired from the East Syracuse-Minoa School District. Helen loved bowling, bridge and gardening.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cunningham, 4th floor for the loving care and dignity they gave Helen. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Turley in 1991.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Hank Fust of Fayetteville and Linda and Michael Donnelly of Manlius; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Calling hours: from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
