Leo “Lee” Sholette, 94. loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at the VA Medical Center. A life resident of the Syracuse area, Lee was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, proudly serving his country as a sergeant in the 22nd Bomber Group, serving in the Asiatic Theater. He retired from the American Linen Company at age 78. Lee was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking in the woods. He also enjoyed woodworking, his dogs Molly and Sam, cars, Heid’s of Liverpool and country music, especially Johnny Cash.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret; daughter, Mary (Jerald) Williamson of Fayetteville; grandsons, Brian (Julie) Cuneo of Saratoga Springs; Arthur (Yonette) Cuneo of Chesapeake, VA; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Claire, Paul and Ella.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery.
