Susan Swenson Wymbs, of Beaverton, OR, formerly of Yarmouth, MA, and Skaneateles, died Dec. 30, 2011, of kidney and heart failure associated with complications from diabetes.
She is survived by a son, Keith Wymbs of Beaverton, OR; a son Bryan Wymbs of Salisbury, NC; her father David Swenson of Salisbury, NC; four grandchildren (Emily, Noah, Millie, and Cora); and a cousin, George Koester III of Jupiter, FL.
Born in Bergen County, NJ, Mrs. Wymbs graduated from Pascack Valley High School in Hillsdale, N.J., in the class of 1963 and attended Ursinus College and Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing from Onondaga Community College. Mrs. Wymbs was a lover of sports, particularly golf and tennis, and worked for many years in service to others as a caregiver and hospice nurse. A private memorial service was held in Beaverton, OR on December 31, 2011.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association or the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
