Mary Louise Polge, 86, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at The Centers at St. Camillus, after battling several medical problems the last three years. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1925, she graduated from Vocational High School and attended Syracuse University.
Mary was a lifelong communicant of the Cathedral. When asked how she felt the last three years, her reply was always, “God has been good to me.” She never complained of pain.
A former executive of the Merchant Bank, she always respectfully greeted customers with a smile. She was a member of their 25-year club and retired in 1990 after 40 years of service.
Mary loved to travel. Her many trips included, Paris, Ireland, Rome, the Holy Land, China, and many others.
Mary was blessed with three older and younger brothers. She was predeceased by her parents, August Sr. Polge and Mary Gurniak Polge; brothers, August Jr. (Fay) and Julien; and sister-in-law, Frances Polge.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Jean, Albert and Evelyn, Charles and Mary F., and Alfred and Shelly, all of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Marlene Polge; and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Relatives and friends called from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home with Rev. Frederick Mannara officiating. Mary was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.

Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13202 or to Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse, NY 13207. Mary ended all of her conversations with “God Bless.” This obituary ends the same.
