John Christopher King, 82, of Jordan, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Ireland, John was 21 when he immigrated to America and settled in Central New York. He worked in heavy construction and retired in 1982 from Roth Steel where he was the yard manager. While fond of his Irish heritage, John was very proud to be an American.
He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Alice King, and his brother Peter.
Surviving are his daughter Leslie Carlson (Ron Davis) of Jordan, a brother James Frances King of England, five sisters Bridget Murtagh, Rose McBride, and Patricia Serrfechia all of Ireland, Margaret Reed of Australia and Kathleen Lucak of Syracuse, two grandchildren Sarah Carlson of Fla., and Andy Carlson of Syracuse, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours: 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Route 5) Elbridge with a prayer service to follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. John DeLorenzo officiating. Contributions may be made to the Jordan Ambulance Fund.
