Hazel “Haze” Falcone, 90, of DeWitt, passed away Feb. 10, 2012, peacefully at home. Born in Syracuse, Haze was the daughter of the late William F. and Hazel Kirk Cullen. Haze was a graduate of Eastwood High School. She attended school on alternate days starting at age 12 with her sister so they could raise their younger brothers following their mother’s death. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, a charter member of the Cavalry Club where she enjoyed golf and bridge. She and Joe enjoyed vacationing over 40 years in Ogunquit, Maine.
She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Falcone, Sr. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Feb. 9; her children, Tom Falcone of North Carolina, Jim (Trudy) Falcone of Manlius and Joe Jr. (Kathy) Falcone of Manlius; grandchildren, Todd Falcone of North Carolina, Kim (Jay) Sousa of Andover, MA, Nicole (Julian) Halpern of South Hadley, MA, Adam Falcone of Charleston, SC, Margaret Falcone and Joseph Falcone III both of Manlius; and great-grandchildren, Thomas Falcone, Alex Falcone, Farah Sousa and Taylor Sousa. She was predeceased by a sister and three brothers.
Mass of Christian burial: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt. There will be no calling hours. For guestbook, please visit scheppfamily.com. Contributions: may be made to a charity of your choice.
