Harry W. Heath, 82, of Cicero, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Little Falls, he had lived in Cicero since 1968.
Harry was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran and a survivor of the Chosin Reservoir Entrapment in 1950. He was a member of the Chosin Few, the Marine Corps League, the Marine Corps Association, the 1st Marine Division Association and VFW Post 8664.
In 1991, Harry retired from OCWA having previously been with the NYS Division of Labor Compensation Board. He was an officer with Troop D of the NYS Police and the Herkimer Police Department. He had been a judge for the Town of Clay in the 1970's.
A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, he was a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan.
Harry is survived by Janet, his wife of 59 years; two daughters, Ann Marie (Danny) Schlie of Clay and Nancy (Warren) Schlie of North Syracuse; eight grandchildren, Steven, Michael (Kimberly Allen), Shannon (Walter, Jr.) Strait, Jessica, Daniel, Katie, Kayla and Grace; four great grandchildren, Alyssah, Jacob, Zachary and Brody and a brother, Robert E. Heath.
Services: 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Fergerson Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church of Cicero. Calling hours: from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the funeral home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse. Burial with military honors will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, in memory of Hobo, to the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 ½ West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088.
