Edwin C. Napierski, 81, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at Iroquois Nursing Home. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he was born on Wednesday, April 9, 1930 and was the son of Hipolit “Paul” Napierski and Anna Soski Napierski.
Ed retired after 20 years with Enrico's Restaurant. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and served as head usher. He was also a volunteer at Loretto Daybreak. An avid wrestling fan, he also enjoyed the Syracuse Chiefs, Yankees, biking and spending time with the firemen at Engine 8 for many years.
Ed was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Paul and Richard; and sister, Dolores Bognaski.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Rose Ann Napierski of Camillus; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services were at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, where Rev. Robert D. Chryst celebrated a funeral mass. Ed was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1515 Midland Ave., Syracuse, NY 13205.
