Oliva Eggert, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at the age of 92. She was the eldest daughter of the late John and Marguerite Eggert. Oliva was one of 12 children and devoted many years caring for her younger siblings. After completing her schooling she was employed by General Electric during WWII in the Radar Test Department and then in the Legal Department. She moved to Virginia in 1973 to make her home with her youngest brother, David, until his retirement in 1994. She continued to reside with him on Onondaga Hill.
Oliva was predeceased by two sisters, June and Fern, three brothers, John, Antone and William.
She is survived by three sisters, Beatrice Brizendine of Owensboro, Kentucky; Alice Zion of Kirkville; and Beverly Murray of Onondaga Hill; three brothers, Charles of Minoa; Edward of Collamer; and David of Onondaga Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, from Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home, 5854 Belle Isle Road, Syracuse, NY 13209. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery.
