John C. Condon

John C. "Jack" Condon, of North Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012. Born in Honesdale, PA, to the late John and Anna Condon, on April 24, 1924, he is also predeceased by sisters, Marie Meldrum and Kathryn Robillard and brother, James.
Upon graduating from Most Holy Rosary School in 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy, served at Tinian in the Mariana Islands during WWII and on the Princeton CV 37 in occupational duty. He retired in 1985 from General Electric after 38 years of service as fireman and alarm mechanic.
Mr. Condon was a member of VFW Post 7290, American Legion Post 1297, Bishop Grimes Booster Club and a 63 year communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. He was an avid vegetable and flower gardener.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Eileen Marie Barrett; nine children, Linda (Henry) Phillips of West Monroe, Nancy (Michael) Obleman of Pulaski, John (Toni) Condon of Medford, NJ, Eileen (Terry) Servis of Rochester, Robert (Carol) Condon of Chittenango, James Condon of Syracuse, Mary Anne (James) Emery of Ellicott City, MD, Patrick (Angel) Condon of Kirkville and Michael (Diana) Condon of Buffalo, WY; a brother, Donald (Jean) Condon of Liverpool; his sisters, Doris (Louis) Donahue of Warners and Ann (Clifton) Couse of Brownville; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Fergerson Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial: 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial and Rite of Committal, with Military Honors, will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, from at the funeral home, 215 South Main St., North Syracuse.
