Richard D. Taylor, Sr., 74, of Mexico, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the Oswego Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late John and Anna Lennon Taylor. He attended Marcellus Central School. He was a dairy farmer, retiring in 2004, and was a member of the Draft Horse Association. He is predeceased by one daughter, Debra Ann Taylor.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Suzanne Leach, two daughters, Helen (Eric) Perth of Mexico and Irene (Mickey) Lane of Pulaski, two sons, Richard D. (Debra) Taylor, Jr., of Mexico and Peter Taylor of Mexico, a foster son, Gerald Denny, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two sisters, Mary Masters of Marcellus and Margaret Hourigan of Syracuse.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico. Burial: in Mexico Village Cemetery. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 441 W. Kilpatrick St., Syracuse.
