Joan Neveldine Jones, 79, of Chittenango, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Francis House. She graduated from Manlius High School and attended LeMoyne College. She and her former husband were founding members of the Pompey Hills Cub Scouts.
Joan worked for St. Ann’s Church in Manlius for many years and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. She was an avid reader, amazing conversationalist, and enjoyed knitting for family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Marjorie Neveldine, a sister, Sr. Mary Carolyne, and sister-in-law, Ann Neveldine.
She is survived by her sons, Micheal (Brenda), David (Karen), Stephen (Sue), James (Shelli), and Andy Jones; daughters-in-law, Jinny, Donna and Pat Jones; brothers, Burns and Peter (Arlene) Neveldine; sister, Marjorie (Ed) Stebbins; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend Stan. A Mass celebrating Joan’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
