Anne W. Noll

Anne W. Noll of Virgil, N.Y. and Liverpool, passed away suddenly on Friday Aug. 24, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Anne was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Elmira Heights, N.Y. She graduated from Horseheads H.S. in 1952 and SUNY Cortland in 1955.
Anne started her career as an elementary school teacher for several years before devoting her time to raising her three children.
Later in her life she became a Braille transcriber for 27 years, during which time she transcribed textbooks for blind students who had been mainstreamed into the public schools. She worked for the N.J. Commission for the Blind and local students. During this time she also trained other transcribers.
Anne had a love for reading, travel, her cats and family. Anne’s deepest passion was downhill skiing and she was looking forward to the upcoming season.
Anne is survived by her son Brian (Stacy), daughter Beth (Ray) Tassini, her brother Eli Whitehouse, grandchildren Sara, Jeffrey, Shaun, Shaine and Jessica and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Burton and her son Bruce.
A memorial service is being planned for Sep. 22 in Cortland. Additional details to follow soon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local SPCA in Anne’s memory. Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville, has arrangements.
